I am the former lead singer of a 60’s band THE CHAMBERS BROTHERS. I performed before thousands at Atlanta Pop2, Miami Pop, Newport Pop, Atlantic pop. I didn’t squander my money on drugs or a million dollar home. I went from 1967-1994 before I saw my first royalty check from a music giant I recorded 7 albums with. I have NEVER seen a penny in royalties from the other 10 albums I recorded. Our hit song was licensed to over 100 films, tv, & commercials WITHOUT our permission. One of the major tv network used our song for a national commercial and my payment was only $625. I am now 72 and am trying to live on $1200 a month. SWEET RELIEF, a music charity is taking donations for me. Only the 1% rich artists can afford to sue. I AM ONE OF THE 99%
You also played at Celebration of Life outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.. I was there. I recorded 2 singles in the mid 1970’s and one of the songs still gets regular airplay daily.. I have not recieved a penny myself..I am a registered ASCAP member.. If you wrote the song and it is used for movies commercials or airplay you are intitled to Mechanical Royalties…if you push too hard to get the compensation due.. the users will blackball your material so you don’t get airplay at all anymore…
This is a friggin Crime!!
I feel so very bad for all of the young people, young adults…the future backbone of our nation..that these rich bastards are sacrificing in the name of personal greed and power. Don’t fool yourself we are not the America that we use to be….Since the early 1980’s the Corporations and the Rich along with their paid for politicians began to sell out the working class and the middle class. These despicable people need something to wake them up from their collective Greed protest are great…but there needs to be a realistic set of demands…before OR ELSE! The people that are gaming everyone don’t think that it is wrong to fix the playing field and that continued perversion is going to destroy this nation. Capitalism is Broken..Broken By the Capitalist and their paid for politicians…if they don’t want another "ism" to replace capitalism…then they had better fix the mess they made and quickly. Citizens are fed up with the lies and the cheating and history tells us that the masses will eventually go over the top when they have nothing else to lose.
Well, I am a 25year old, who comes from a “wealthy” family, by wealthy I mean I don’t qualify for student aid or other government hand outs. My parents could probably pay for my college, but i have always been a self sufficient person. Out of high school I went to trade school to be a mechanic, even though it was not what i wanted to do as a career. Once done there I went to college, during this time I have not made a lot of money, but I have saved a little out of each pay check. I used the money i saved to a top rated engineering school, but because of all these idiots trying to bring down capitalism, there may not be a big demand for educated people, so I’ll probably end up sweeping streets with a PhD like they do in Spain, or I will just move to a country that favors capitalism.
You need to go to the Tea Party site son with people you can connect with. By the way all the other countries that favor Capitalism also have socialism and their brand of Capitalism is regulated. We are the only country on the Planet that has unbridled Capitalism and that is what caused the economic collapse. Why is it unbridled? Well Because the corporations paid off the legislators in congress to get rid of the regulations… and that brings us to WHY???WHY WE ARE HAVING THESE PROTEST TO GET CORPORATE MONEY OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT. IF YOU ARE THAT EDUCATED THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONNECT THE DOTS INSTEAD OF COMING ON THIS SITE AND CONTAMINATING A RIGHTIOUS MOVEMENT…GO AWAY!
I’m with all of you. I wrote and recorded a song that absolutely supports what you folks are going through and the outcry for relief from the strangle hold on the working class by the rich. Go to this site scroll down and on the right side my song (actually 2 songs in one), called Revolutionary Mind/Fight the Red Droids-( 9 Minutes and 44 seconds long. It is song #5 on the list and you can play it on the Virtual MP3 Player provided on the page. If you can copy it and use it.. you have my permission. By the way Red Stands for Republican..and Droid stands for Robot. Republican Robots are the people that keep electing these diabolical leaders like George W. Bush, Eric Cantor , Mitch McConnell…etc…That are destroying the Working and Middle class in the name of their Masters..The Wealthy.
Artist is Koontracks.
Copy and paste URL into search engine,(when copying with mouse cover from left to right) you have to click on the URL in the search box for a second time after Bon Jovi pops up first…on the second attempt the Indiechart site will come up.
God bless all of you…do not give up and try to become more organised and share a consensus…contributions will begin to pour in. Police your colleagues and ask them not to be smoking weed in the front of those that would want to shut this movement down as unlawful. Ignore the likes of Fox News and CNN and other media that are profoundly against the movement because their own existence is shaped by BIG MONEY. Again be tough, vigilant and most of all be smart about what you are doing and focused on what we all want a fair and even opportunity to achieve the American Dream. again for the song
My father joined the U.S. Air Force at age 18, learned a trade, and worked hard as a mechanic for 30+ years after that. His health failed and he could not afford treatment; his diabetes became worse and he was eventually disabled (and summarily dismissed by his workplace without a second thought). We lived in a car for two years while he sought benefits, and was denied many times. My mother worked since age 13 but had a stroke 5 years ago, paralyzing one arm. She is nearly blind in one eye and prone to seizures. Their combined disability income is not enough to pay for both rent and medicine. My father suffers with diabetes, cancer, and Parkinson’s, while my mother requires meds for heart disease and seizures. She still has to work under the table cleaning rich people’s houses with one arm, just so they can eat. We are the 99%.
No one living in this nation should have to go through this type misery while certain people have so much wealth that they don’t even know how rich they are. These same people that call themselves Christians do not care about the welfare of this nation as a whole their only motivation is to aquire more wealth even at the expense of their fellow U.S. Citizens. This has gone too far and now it is time to put and end to the Greed and Corruption that promotes mixing money and politics together. Look at what has happen to our nation. It produces poverty and misery for the masses, while a select few live in Luxery and dacadence. Our Nation is broken and needs repair and a fresh start. Bless all of you Young people, again I am so proud of you. Ask for wisdom only if needed, and do not let Big Money and the Biased media high-jack your cause. Keep your message and goals as simple as possible and stay motivated, always looking forward.

If there is a website to donate please advise. I am in full support of the movement. As a member of the 60’s generation I feel the energy all over again. This is so healthy for a democracy. It is like a strong laxative when a Democracy is full of s—t and stopped up. Time to flush the badness out.
I hope that the protesters come to some consensus of what they want. I also think they should be cautious of being high-jacked by the media. I know they need exposure but they are already being portrayed as a branch of the Tea Party and being called the Z party by the media. I hope that is not true. I am ready to contribute but I must see a national website that is organized with a consolidated message that is focused on the widening gap between the Wealthy and the working class and how to close that gap and spread the opportunities and the wealth. Again there are media people looking to ride the energy like a wave for their own benefits…be accommodating for the coverage but be careful not to give away the movement. I am proud of all of you.
